My PhD work
Charlotte’s project is a collaboration of her co-mentors, Tai Montgomery and Tim Stasevich. She is using Dr. Stasevich’s novel imaging technique to illucidate the mechanism of microRNA and protein Argonaute in gene silencing at the translation level. Her project seeks to further our understanding protein translation regulation and mRNA decay.
My current BCG work
Currently, Charlote uses Mathematica and ImageJ to analyze images. She writes macros in ImageJ to post-process raw images from her lab’s home-made single-molecule microscope and to do simple analyses. For single particle tracking and intensity analyses and making plots and charts, Charlote uses Mathematica scripts.
She is practicing coding in R and python to expand her coding toolkit for future data science projects.
